JCYC provides an opportunity for children to make friends and cultivate a sense of belonging, while training them as future leaders.
Pathshala classes were held at private homes before JCSC was built in 1988. At that time, JCYC had approximately 60 students and 3 teachers, and currently has 370 students and 90 teachers and volunteers. The age of students ranges from 3 to 18 years. We also have past students who are returning to teach. Volunteers provide services like handling registration, monitoring attendance, security, traffic control, lunch duty and office administration including operating copy machines and managing supplies.
JCYC organizes forums to develop better understanding between teenagers and parents. The International Jain Teachers’ Conference is also coordinated by JCYC.
The JCYC children's committee is selected by a process of interviews on a yearly basis. This committee conducts activities that include picnics, roller skating, bowling, Mela, Winter Camp, Interfaith Conference, Garba and cultural programs.
