The Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC) located in Buena Park, California, is a non-profit religious organization to pursue a goal of practicing, promoting and preserving the Jain religion.
JCSC is governed by a constitution and managed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee consisting of a: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, and ten Directors, who are elected by members of the Jain Center for a two-year term.
Several events take place at JCSC which are organized by sub-groups, including: Jain Center Youth Council (JCYC), Jain Association of Young Adults (JAYA), Jain Seniors Association, and Mahavir Mahila Mandal. Throughout the years various dignitaries from India and across the world have visited our center to hold lectures and discourses in Jainism.
Over the past 25 years, the Center has undergone major reconstructions to the edifice we have today. As the Jain community rapidly grew over the years, the Board of Directors and Executive Committee decided to rebuild the original center that was erected in 1979. The Center reopened in 2008, with the new 13,000 sq. ft. facility to accommodate the growing population. The exterior design of the center is inspired and reminiscent of ancient Jain temples of Delwada, Ranakpur and Paliana Tirths. Carved Jesalmer yellow limestone was designed and produced in India for the exterior of the building, and the interior uses natural stone including white marble and colorful granite.
Jain Center is a Registered Non-Profit Tax Exempt Organization.
